Mineski Global, in cooperation with Moonton Games, mounted the M5 World Championship in Manila, Philippines. The ML:BB World Championship–also known this year as M5–is the culmination of all worldwide MPL tournaments and the final event of the ML:BB Competitive circuit.

The Philippines has the second-biggest ML:BB player base in the world, with 41.2 million downloads, according to a report from SensorTower. This prestigious opportunity follows the success the country had in playing host to two other major esports events: the Southeast Asia Cup and SEA Games in 2019.

“Our goal was to deliver the World Championship experience to teams and audiences alike while utilizing the strengths of our products and services to create a seamless, elevated, and immersive experience,”

Agus Hwang, Regional Esports Head of Mineski.

Moonton also hosted several activities, running alongside the world-class esports event. This included MPL Barangay Watch Parties to drive hype for the championships on a community level, as well as MSummit, an exclusive conference for leaders and entrepreneurs in the esports and gaming industries.

The M5 Group Stage started on December 2 and culminated on December 7. Winners proceeded to the knockout stages from December 9 to 16, leading to the Grand Finals on December 17.
